Bare and Beautiful

Today I felt like wearing very little makeup. I brought out some of my favorite products to create a “no-makeup” makeup look, and I’m actually very happy with it!

In today’s day and age, most women strive to create that flawless, effortless look, as if they are the rarest of creatures….a natural beauty. (Not a unicorn.)

Only a few of us are successful.Image

This is my basic everyday look this summer. It’s simple, it’s clean, and has the right amount of polish.

I just love the look of luminous skin, glossy pink lips, and dark lashes…it’s a perf combo! 😀

Here are the products I used:

Elf Tinted Moisturizer in “Nude”

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in #10

Revlon Nearly Naked Powder in “Fair Clair”

Maybelline Full ‘N Soft Mascara

MAC Lipstick in “Hot Gossip”

MAC Lipglass in “Wonderstruck”

Okay, I have to admit, this is the least amount of makeup I’ve wore in a long time. But my skin needed a break from all the heavy stuff…it was clogging my pores and making my skin look so tired!

A lot of girls my age wear a ton of heavy makeup. You’ve probably seen the Twitter-pics, the Facebook profiles, the Instagram selfies. The thick, caky foundation, the lumpy, clumpy mascara, heavy liner, or bronzer. Makeup that makes them look worse instead of better, older instead of younger.

I think at any age under 40, GO AS BARE AS POSSIBLE. You are fresh, youthful, and beautiful. Show it off while you can!!

Kiss kiss! Stay pretty, ladies. ;}

Sorry I haven’t posted in a bit, be prepared for some reviews on new products!!

Mission G.N.O!

G.N.O: (Noun.) Definition: “Girls Night Out”, a gender-exclusive activity where women meet to engage in social activities.

Initiative: Have a good time.

So my girlfriends and I went out on the town to a oh-so-fabulous masquerade ball to celebrate Earth Day! I felt like I should share some pictures because our costumes were AUUHMAYZING.

My friend Kaylie went as an “Aristocat”.

My other friend, Katie, went as a penguin!

And I went as a Phoenix!

The ball was FAAABULOUS. There was music, dancing, disco lights, and a cute boy who we called “Mr. Hot Sweatshirt Guy” (but we didn’t have the guts to talk to him!)

Anyways, the food sucked, but throughout the night we felt unexplainably glamorous. My friend Kaylie and I brushed glitter on our collarbones, chest, and back, so that when we danced our skin sparkled like diamonds.

(Because we danced so much, I wore Converse under my dress and not heels. Shhhh!)

We left at 11pm and went home to eat chips, gossip, rip off our uncomfortable dresses, scrub the makeup from our faces, and  remove all of our clunky jewelry.

It was an amazing night.

Talk to you later, darlings!

FOTD

Well technically, this is a “face of yesterday.”<3  Haha

I wore this today, but it’s nearly midnight so I guess it’s “yesterday”. If that makes any sense.Image

This look is very no-fuss. I went to the zoo, so I didn’t exactly “pull out the big guns”. I just popped on some coverage, a dab of eyeshadow, and a topping of gloss. Simple, easy-peasy.

Image

I apologize…I can make extremely strange faces. Hopefully this squinty-eyed, puckered-lipped, peace-signed one above didn’t scar you for life.

My coverage wasn’t great..I used Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer in #10 dotted under my eyes and on a few problem areas. It has a powder finish, so no powder was needed!

Image

As you can see, I have a light lilac eye and a shimmery, cherry-pink lip. When you see the lips up close, they really are super GLITTERY.

I was going out with the family, so I didn’t want to put on the cat-eye liner, falsies, and dramatic lipstick. It wasn’t like I was going to be walking the red carpet…more like modeling for a spring Vogue photo shoot, or a first date, or school. I wanted to look fresh but NOT overdone.

Image

So my eyes were kind of a mix of palettes. I was short on time, so I just kinda winged it.

I used an Estee Lauder Double-Wear ShadowCreme in “Gold Dust” all over my lids and up to my brow bone to provide a warm base. Then I piled on Urban Decay’s “Sin”, “Fishnet”, and “Stray Dog”.

Image

On my lips I just used a lip balm as a base, but you could use anything from Chapstick to MAC’s fancy shmancy lip conditioner. Then, I used MAC Lustreglass in “Wonderstruck”. It’s soooo glittery and wonderful!

And just for fun, I’m going to include what I put in my travel bag.

ISABELLA’S TRAVEL BAG

Soooooo we were at the zoo for a pretty long time. Afterwards we ate, then stopped at Dutch Bros, then Walmart, and by the time we got home I was soooo tired.

When I’m at the zoo/fair/airport/mall/ect., I HATE lugging around a huge bag unless there’s somewhere to set it. I planned ahead this time though, and only had a small wristlet.

Image

It was just big enough to hold everything I needed. Which was:

Oil blotting tissues

Lip gloss for touch-ups

Hair ties

Small dental floss

Cell phone

To me, that’s all you need on the go. Sure, a little pressed powder wouldn’t hurt, but hey, I was at the ZOO. It would seem stupid to run off somewhere looking for a bathroom to touch-up your powder when your looking at elephants and other beautiful creatures!!

Lip gloss isn’t as much of a hassle to reapply in public.

If you guys have any questions or anything of that sort, leave it in the comments. I honestly really enjoy hearing your guys’s opinions and feedback. Did you like my look?

‘Night!

My VDay FOTD and OOTD

Ohhhh happy Valentine’s Day, everybody!

Today was a rush of school, Valentines, and middle-schoolers professing their undying love for each other. We had a school “spirit day” today, and I dressed up in a ridiculously fluffy, pink tutu, and pink shirt, and a pink headband in my hair. Image

Sorry for the little peek of bra. And the noticeable Hello Kitty undershorts. It’s a fun look, though, you have to admit!

Image

My makeup was a simple cat eye, and sweet, pink cheeks and lips. I used Maybelline Baby Lips in “Pink Punch” (I was having a little experiment), and on my cheeks is Milani Baked Blush in “Dolce Pink”. I was using my Maybelline Eye Studio Liner in “Blackest Black”, and my Wet ‘N’ Wild “Reserve Your Cabana” dusted a little bit everywhere for an extra finish.

What do YOU guys think? How was your day? What did you wear?

Love ya lots!

Sweet Purple Smoke

Hi starlets and makeup mavens!

This is a look I wore yesterday, and it has to be one of my favorite ones I have ever done. ImageImageImage

The products I used on my eyes were the Urban Decay shadows in “Fishnet” and “Freakshow”, with Sephora Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara on my lashes. Fishnet is a light, buttery almost iridescent lilac, and Freakshow’s a purple matte color that I layered on my crease to give it that slightly smoky effect.

On my skin I’m wearing Dr. Jart SPF 45 PA+++ BB Cream, with Clinique Stay Matte pressed powder on top. :}

And, last but not least, on my lips I’m wearing MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Hot Gossip!

Just wanted to show ya what I wore, and wondered your thoughts! I named this look “Sweet Purple Smoke” because it’s like a sweet, subtle, slightly smoky eye that looks sort of sultry, but also whimsical and fun at the same time.

P.S: SORRY IF I’VE BEEN OVER-LOADING YOUR FEED WITH POSTS. I don’t have any homework today so that equals more blogging time! :}

Hair and Winter Formals

Hello my little cream-puffs!

Okay, I’ll be honest with you, my hair is totally-not picture perfect. It’s a giant, multi-hued, ombre-frizzball of SADNESS. I don’t straighten it, or spray it, or curl it, it’s just naturally wavy-curly-frizzy, a combination I like to call “wacuizzy” (wack-oo-iz-ee.) the most horrendous hair type I know of.

Image

Most of the girls at my school straighten their hair, so it’s all glossy and swishy and long, and they can actually DO STUFF with it!

I going to winter formal this month (the 19th, just 10 DAYS away!) and have NO IDEA what to do with my wacuizzy hair. I bought a dress at this place called “The Annex”. Image

It’s expresso-colored with multi-hued sequins dotted here and there, with a swishy skirt that’s fun to dance and twirl in!

IMG_0727 <—— (This is my little wristlet!)

AND, it’s a high-school formal, (and I’m only in 8th grade!), so I’ll be surrounded by people who are much older than me, which kind of freaks me out. My date totally kicked me to the curb, so I’m going with a few friends instead. I mean, come on, a beautiful dress and nowhere to go in it? What a waste!

Do you think my dress is okay? I have no idea what color to paint my nails, or what jewelry to wear, and my hair is still a complete mess…..and, oh jeez I’m rambling. Anyway, I hope you, (my small group of followers), have wonderful days and I’ll talk to you guys soon!

P.S Sorry if this was a little short. I should probably go start my homework..(I haven’t even cracked open my back-pack yet!).
