3 DIY Treats For Happy Skin!

Hii beautifuls!

Okay, so we all have our bad skin days. Flaky lips, greasy faces, you know what I’m talking about. Gross, icky stuff that most of us have to deal with.

Soo, I wanted to share three feel-good skin yummies…that you can whip up with ingredients straight from your kitchen!

First is a lovely honey lip-scrub to cure your flakey lips:

HONEY LIP SCRUB

Supplies:

Organic honey

Granulated sugar

Small container

Mixing tool

 Directions:

Okay, so this is a very, very easy recipe. Add the two ingredients into a small container, and combine then with your mixing tool (I used a chopstick). After it turns into a paste-like consistency, it’s finished! You have a super-sweet lip scrub that gets the job done.

Also..it lasts for almost ever. Even kept at room temperature!

Second is a oatmeal-yogurt hydrating mask to soften your skin.

OATS ‘N YOGURT MASK:

Supplies:

Quaker Oats (preferably rolled oats)

Organic honey

Organic plain yogurt

Bowl

Large mixing spoon

Directions:

Mix your honey and plain yogurt in the bowl, and then add the oats. It’s okay to estimate how much of each ingredient you want…you don’t have to be super precise.

This mask has a lot of amazing benefits. Oats are a natural exfoliator that is also very soothing, honey is great for acne, sun damage, and is full of antioxidants, and yogurt contains enzymes and lactic acid to hydrate and sooth the skin.

You can put this mask on a sunburn, use it as a scrub, or use it as a cleanser. Whatever suits you.

Last but not least is a delicious cucumber toner to be a great refresher.

CUCUMBER TONER:

Supplies:

1-2 organic cucumbers

Witch hazel or rose water

Grater

Colander

Bowl

Sterilized glass jar or bottle

Directions:

First off, grate your cleaned cucumber into a colander set directly over a bowl. Once grated, squeeze the grated cucumber to collect the juice. Measure the amount of juice you have, and add an equal amount of witch hazel/rose water to finish off your toner.

As soon as your finished, pour it in the bottle and store it in your fridge. (In my opinion, it’s best used when chilled!)

It keeps for up to ten days, and is really a treat for your skin. Cucumber is a natural soother, and contains a bunch of antioxidants for beautiful skin.

Anyway, that’s all for skin treats!

Special thanks to beautybanter.com, thechalkboardmag.com, and Michelle Phan for inspiring me to make these concoctions. ;}

I’m going to go and sit on the couch, eat a Snickers and watch Dumbo or something. ❤

ILY.

DIY Honey and Turmeric Mask

Acne. Pimples. Zits. Terrible, annoying, irritating ickiness. There’s nothing less glamorous than a huge zit on your forehead when you wake up.

GUYS, I’m a middle-school girl. I find myself obligated to know stuff about zits! Picking and pestering those little suckers isn’t the right way to go…and I wanted to share a mask I’ve been using since I was nine.

FYI, this is SOO simple. You only need two things: Organic honey and turmeric!

HONEY AND TURMERIC MASK

Okay, lets get started!! First off, take two spoonfuls of honey and drop them in a bowl. Sprinkle on some turmeric and mix, mix, mix! The consistency may seem thick, gooey and a bit sticky, but that’s how you want it, so no worries.

After you’re done mixing, spread it on your face in layers. Turmeric is famous in Asia for its skin-brightening, acne-fighting properties, and honey is good for acne as well! They were a match made in heaven, I say. ❤

P.S: If the turmeric stains your skin, gently wash your face with a damp cloth. After a few times of washing, the yellow tint will be gone.

Hope you guys enjoyed this short and sweet recipe!

DIY 5 Minute Chocolate Cake

Hey my adorables.

Soo…with Valentine’s Day coming up and all…I wanted to share a recipe that is quick, easy and deliciously sweet. Perfect for a cozy night in with your significant other…OR with all your girlfriends, OR by yourself, crying. Haha I’m kidding….

Anyway, here’s the recipe!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • One favorite mug
  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons of whisked egg – 1 egg is too much, 1 egg white is too egg-ish (NASTYY), 1 yolk is too thick and dense, but 2 tablespoons perfecto!
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 3 tablespoons of chocolate chips
  • A drizzle of vanilla

(For a fudgier version, leave out the egg.)

DIRECTIONS:

Add all of your dry ingredients to your mug and mix. Next, add the egg, then the milk and oil, THEN the chocolate chips and vanilla!

MIX IT, and mix it well, girl.

P.S: If you don’t have any chocolate chips, mix in a broken up candy bar. (Which, by the way, is 1000000000000 times more awesome and delicious than boring old chocolate chips.)

And NOW, you microwave the yummy mix in a 1000w oven for 3 minutes, or in a 700w oven for 4 minutes. It may start to rise over the top of the mug, but DO NOT panic! It will collapse once the heat stops.

AAAAAAAAnd ta-da! A yummy cake that’s easy to make. Experiment with fun toppings, or eat it by itself. It’s still delicious ;}Image

This is a recipe I borrowed from Instructables, but I’ve done this recipe many times in the past! It’s super fun.

Enjoy!!! :}

DIY Lip Color

I’m SO SO SO excited to show you guys this.

It’s a super-easy, super-fun way to create your own, personalized lip color with little to no cost. Me and my friends used to do this at slumber-parties, so we would have all these little lip-goodies to take home with us.

Let’s go!!

Supplies:

A saucer or plate

A mixing tool (fork, spoon, chopstick, ect.)

An empty tub, contact case, or any other little container

Vaseline or petroleum jelly

Vanilla extract

A blush or eyeshadow (Or both!)

Directions:

Get out your little mixing-plate and squeeze out a bit of Vaseline. Taking your eyeshadow or blush,   scratch off a generous amount of pigment onto the plate, add your yummy vanilla, and mix it all up.

If you think it’s missing something, you can always mix more colors! You’re not restricted, in fact, the more pigments, the better.

As soon as you’re happy with it, scrape it into the container.

Aaaaaaand you are done!!

Enjoy the endless possibilities! You can paint this stuff on with a lip brush or your finger, and it’s uniquely YOURS. Plus, it’s a great way to recycle old eyeshadows and blushes!

JUST A TIP: Write down what pigments you used in case you want to ever make more!

Have funnn!
