3 DIY Treats For Happy Skin!

Hii beautifuls!

Okay, so we all have our bad skin days. Flaky lips, greasy faces, you know what I’m talking about. Gross, icky stuff that most of us have to deal with.

Soo, I wanted to share three feel-good skin yummies…that you can whip up with ingredients straight from your kitchen!

Image

First is a lovely honey lip-scrub to cure your flakey lips:

HONEY LIP SCRUB

Supplies:

Organic honey

Granulated sugar

Small container

Mixing tool

 Directions:

Okay, so this is a very, very easy recipe. Add the two ingredients into a small container, and combine then with your mixing tool (I used a chopstick). After it turns into a paste-like consistency, it’s finished! You have a super-sweet lip scrub that gets the job done.

Also..it lasts for almost ever. Even kept at room temperature!

Second is a oatmeal-yogurt hydrating mask to soften your skin.

OATS ‘N YOGURT MASK:

Supplies:

Quaker Oats (preferably rolled oats)

Organic honey

Organic plain yogurt

Bowl

Large mixing spoon

Directions:

Mix your honey and plain yogurt in the bowl, and then add the oats. It’s okay to estimate how much of each ingredient you want…you don’t have to be super precise.

This mask has a lot of amazing benefits. Oats are a natural exfoliator that is also very soothing, honey is great for acne, sun damage, and is full of antioxidants, and yogurt contains enzymes and lactic acid to hydrate and sooth the skin.

You can put this mask on a sunburn, use it as a scrub, or use it as a cleanser. Whatever suits you.

Last but not least is a delicious cucumber toner to be a great refresher.

CUCUMBER TONER:

Supplies:

1-2 organic cucumbers

Witch hazel or rose water

Grater

Colander

Bowl

Sterilized glass jar or bottle

Directions:

First off, grate your cleaned cucumber into a colander set directly over a bowl. Once grated, squeeze the grated cucumber to collect the juice. Measure the amount of juice you have, and add an equal amount of witch hazel/rose water to finish off your toner.

As soon as your finished, pour it in the bottle and store it in your fridge. (In my opinion, it’s best used when chilled!)

It keeps for up to ten days, and is really a treat for your skin. Cucumber is a natural soother, and contains a bunch of antioxidants for beautiful skin.

Anyway, that’s all for skin treats!

Special thanks to beautybanter.com, thechalkboardmag.com, and Michelle Phan for inspiring me to make these concoctions. ;}

I’m going to go and sit on the couch, eat a Snickers and watch Dumbo or something. ❤

ILY.

5 Refreshing Summer Must-Haves!!

Sooo…SURPRISE! It’s summer.

Say hello to sweaty armpits, frizzed-out hair, melting makeup, and red, swollen faces. Yippee!

WELL NO FEAR, beautiful citizens! Isabella is here to the rescue! (And she brought lemonade!)

Anyway, my point is summer can be a little…uncomfortable. Sweaty. Messy. Completely unglamorous at times. And I thought I should share some summer beauty must-haves.

These are things I’ve been using every day so far, and have been loooving! Enjoyyy.

First off, I picked Tom’s Long-Lasting Deodorant in “Fresh Apricot”..because, hey. Let’s be honest. For me, it’s nearly unbearable to walk around all day with B.O.

Image

Plus, the smell is soo fresh…and fruity! It lasts ALL day, just like the label says!

Next is my skin-care savior…Yes-To Tomatoes Skin Clearing Facial Mask. What a mouthful!

On the darkest, most disgusting skin days when pimples, dullness, and blotching become a huge deal, this literally transforms my skin. I’m serious, after washing it off, my skin is smooth and refreshed and glowing. I’ve used up nearly three containers of this stuff! Image

After I use the mask, I need a good toner. The one I picked out to show you is one I’ve had for a while and still haven’t used up!

It’s a cleansing water by Caudalíe. Image

This is the DEFINITION of refreshing.

I just pour some on a cotton pad and use it to gently cleanse away all the icky impurities, dirt, oil, and makeup, and it leaves this delicious tingle.

It kind of smells like melons. Maybe cucumber?

Not sure…but it smells niiiiice. And I’m a sucker for good-smelling things.

Neeexxt uppp is something you guys might find dumb…but I bought it after watching Michelle spritz it on in one of her old videos.

It’s an Evian mineral water facial spray.

It’s just cold-water-mist-stuff in a pretty can.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT, I DON’T REGRET BUYING IT. IT’S FUDGIN’ AWESOME. Image

I actually bought two of the mini-sizes at Sephora for, like, 12 bucks.

On a hot day, this stuff is my best friend. It’s a really nice mist…I loooove to spray it on my arms, legs, face, back of my neck, anywhere to get that instant cold.

And now, finally, a product that isn’t skincare or something.!

Soo recently I’ve been getting into the Essie nail polishes. There’s one I specifically like…and it’s a perfect shade for summer.

Image

It can really make tanned skin pop, and the color is delectable, trendy, and sweet.

“Mint Candy Apple”, people!!!

Who doesn’t love a minty hue to cool you down on a hot summer day?

That’s all I got, folks. I really hope you check some of these products out, anyways, because they are wonderful.

If you don’t mind, I’ll be out lounging in my hammock with an issue of Vogue. ;}

Kisses.

DIY Honey and Turmeric Mask

Acne. Pimples. Zits. Terrible, annoying, irritating ickiness. There’s nothing less glamorous than a huge zit on your forehead when you wake up.

GUYS, I’m a middle-school girl. I find myself obligated to know stuff about zits! Picking and pestering those little suckers isn’t the right way to go…and I wanted to share a mask I’ve been using since I was nine.

FYI, this is SOO simple. You only need two things: Organic honey and turmeric!

HONEY AND TURMERIC MASK

Okay, lets get started!! First off, take two spoonfuls of honey and drop them in a bowl. Sprinkle on some turmeric and mix, mix, mix! The consistency may seem thick, gooey and a bit sticky, but that’s how you want it, so no worries.

Image

After you’re done mixing, spread it on your face in layers. Turmeric is famous in Asia for its skin-brightening, acne-fighting properties, and honey is good for acne as well! They were a match made in heaven, I say. ❤

P.S: If the turmeric stains your skin, gently wash your face with a damp cloth. After a few times of washing, the yellow tint will be gone.

Hope you guys enjoyed this short and sweet recipe!

D.I.Y Body-Scrub

Hey darlings!

I just wanted to show you a favorite beauty D.I.Y of mine, that’s super easy to achieve!

Let’s get started, shall we?

A wide-mouthed glass jar

Kosher salt

Olive Oil

An essential oil you ADORE (peppermint, jasmine, rose, ect.)

Cinnamon

(Optional) Flower petals, lemon zest, rosemary

Directions:

Fill your jar a little less than halfway with kosher salt. Then, pour almost as much olive oil into the jar and mix it up a tad, until the consistency feels right.

Next, add four drops of the essential oil and a teaspoon of cinnamon into the mixture. Mix it all up completely and throw in your optionals, then let it sit for a while.
