Stila Countless Color Pigments

Happy fall, everyone!

Omg. I can’t believe I’ve been gone for two weeks. YIKES!!!  I feel so awful, but let’s face it, high school has been kicking my butt.

My birthday was on the tenth, and I got some beautiful gifts.

I introduce to you, STILA COUNTLESS COLOR PIGMENTS! Gather ’round, gather ’round!

Image

Obviously, they’re gorgeous. They come with a lot of product in the pan, swirled around together to create a really pretty effect. To me, they look like little planets. Cuuuuute.

Stila is a high-end brand I haven’t experimented with very much, and I was excited to try these!

I got two colors, “Tie Dye” (the blue-purple-pink one) and “Lyric” (the orange-peach-pink one). For pigmentation, they both are pretty equal. The powder comes off silky and creamy, blending seamlessly and staying put for a long time. There’s no glitter or any shimmer, just a lightly satiny finish.

Here’s an up-close look at Tie Dye.

IMG_6727

These colors are FREAKING BEAUTIFUL.

Swirled together, it’s like a peacock-color. (I don’t really know how else to describe it!) What I like about these pigments is that you can wear the colors separate, or blend them together. Unfortunately, I can’t really wear this to school. It’s a bit much for every day…I’ll save it for homecoming! ;}

Next is Lyric.

 IMG_6726

I’ve used this one a lot these past couple weeks. Some of you might be like “Whuuut. PINK on the eyes? Gurrrl that’s cray cray.”

But this looks really nice, I swear! It’s not harsh at all, it just gives your eyes a sweet, tender blush. When I’m in a hurry, I’ll put a little on my cheeks too!

That’s all I have for today, ladies. I’ll be back with a fall look really soon, with a couple little posts in between.

Have a great afternoon! ❤

MAC Lipsticks GALORE!!

Howdy-do, my precious cupcakes.

I got a suggestion from a few lovely followers to do some reviews. Specifically, on things that I got from a recent haul here.

The two lovely followers were beautiful Ashley and Olive, who were requesting lipstick and eyeshadow reviews. (Be expecting a lot of reviews in your future!) ;}

Soo, I took my three brand-spankin’-new MAC lipsticks and decided to swatch and describe them in detail.

First off, is sexy and red-hot Lady Danger.

IMG_5621

First, the color is gorgeous. It’s a lovely orange-red with a matte finish, very classic and vivid. You can get rich color in one swipe, so pigmentation is no problem. Neither is staying power…this stuff sticks. (AND stains!!!)

Now, guys, this is a matte lipstick. If you have dryer lips, this will cling to those icky bits of dead skin. So, I suggest exfoliating and putting on a lip conditioner before you use this!

The next time you’re at a MAC counter, try this baby on. You won’t regret it!

Second is flashy Girl About Town.

IMG_5631

This, in comparison to “Lady Danger”, is a thousand times more buttery. You can also build up the color, depending on if you want a sheer or opaque look.

Also, I loooove the color; it’s a medium fuchsia with blue undertones. On an olive-toned girl, it just makes my skin glow!  A cream/gloss finish isn’t half-bad either. It just looks so yummy on the lips!

LAST, but not least, angelic Creme Cup!

IMG_5625

To be honest, this doesn’t swatch too well, but it looks amazing on the lips! It’s not your average boring nude, it’s a milky, sweet pink that won’t wash you out.

I can totally understand the hype on this one. If you want a “My Lips But Better”, or MLBB shade, try this one! It’s light and buildable, perfect for everyday or to pair with a smokey eye.

Staying power could be better, but I don’t mind reapplying this one. It’s so moisturizing and creamyyy. :}

Anyway, that’s all the lippies! I hope these reviews were helpful, and I apologize for keeping it brief.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I’d be glad to get back to you!

PEACE!!!!! <333

Five Weekly Faves!

Hey Curly-Fries ❤ (Can I call you guys that?)

This week I had a lot of interesting favorites that I thought I could show-and-tell. I rarely ever do favorites, but here y’all go!

Favorite #5: Natural Scents Candle in “Vanilla Latte”

Image

This candle smells reallllly great, sort of like a creamy vanilla candy, with no coffee-reminescent smell to be detected. Natural Scents has THE BEST candles, and their selection of scents is astounding. They have everything from Sugar Cookie to Eggnog to Birthday Cake to Watermelon to Bubblegum to Raspberry Truffle to Ylang Ylang and everything in between.

The best part is the glass square it comes in is made out of recycled materials! Score!

You can get them here. :}

Favorite #4: Lace Socks

Image

Who doesn’t love some feminine lace socks? I love the little button accents and the lace on the hem! They were made by Grace and Lace Company on Etsy, who makes a lot of girly socks, leg-warmers, and the like. This particular style also came in mint..one of my fave colors!! Image

Weekly Favorite #3: Zoi Greek Yogurt in “Raspberry Cream” Flavor Image

In my opinion, Zoi makes the best greek yogurt in stores. I’ve tried all types from all brands, but this is my favorite. It’s got a solid, creamy-white upper layer, then a soft bed of fruit in the bottom. I like how it’s not gooey and chunky like other brands; it’s more like you’re eating a cheesecake than anything else. And it’s healthy!

Weekly Favorite #2: The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

Image

Not gonna lie..I’ve used up at least ten of these in my 13-year-old-life. But I just got a new one this week, and supposed that I’d better add it to the list!

First off, the scent is soft. It doesn’t bombard you, it BECKONS you with coconutty goodness. And it moisturizes your skin like no other, actually repairing it with each use. I love coconut scents, but if they’re not your thing, The Body Shop has many other options!

Weekly Favorite #1: MAC Lipstick in “Syrup”

Image

I recently got this in the mail with a bunch of other MAC lipsticks, but this is one of my most favorite. It’s described as a “cloudy pink” on the MAC website, but in reality it’s more of a creamy mauve.

I love it. It’s a great everyday shade, and I’ve been wearing the heck out of it.

Anyway..that’s all for today!

I’m really tired, so I’m going to crawl in bed and take a leisurely sleep.

‘Nighty night starlets. ❤

Two New Finds

Hi everyone!

I recently went shopping, and purchased two new lipsticks by Esteé Lauder. I’m actually pretty pleased with these, so I wanted to have a little review on each!

The first one is “Pink Power”Image

It’s a creamy, bright pink with super-subtle gold shimmer. Bubble-gum pinks are VERY in right now, and isn’t this gorg? It brightens up my face really nicely and gives a young, fresh feel to your makeup. Plus, it’s very long-lasting, (Trust me, I wore it to school today and hardly had to do touch-ups!) but pricey. 25 bucks pricey. 😦

The SECOND one is “Violet Electra” Image

This is my new favorite color I’ve EVER owned. Look at that swatch! Isn’t it dazzling? On the lips, it does not look like chrome, but a beautiful swipe of lush, delectable color. It’s unique. It’s edgy. It’s sexy. It’s va-va-voom sexy. When I wear it, it brings out every bit of gold in my skin and eyes, and I adore it. I MORE than adore it. I love it. I crave it. It’s the color I’ve been waiting for all my life.

Love you guys! Peace out!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Sticks

I bought these a couple days ago, and was freaking out over them! I was bowing down to their existence. I was loving them obsessively.

But after a day or two of trying them out, I’m not sure what I think of these.

ImageThis is a swatch of the two colors I purchased “Tempting Turquoise” and “Paranoid Purple”. They were both a little glittery, not shimmery, but not SO glittery it was screaming into people’s faces.

Tempting Turquoise was WAHBAAAAAM..bright. If you guys have seen that one thick, neon stripe across model’s eyelids on the catwalks a lot, you can totally recapture the look with this color. It’s SOO bright and pigmented, but use it sparingly!

Paranoid Purple was okay. I liked it a little. I mean, it’s OKAY. The purple color is beautiful, but you can’t blend it as easily as Tempting Turquoise, and it seems to smear and smudge more.

A WORD ABOUT BOTH OF THESE:

These are super creamy and pigmented, but they last much longer with a primer or base underneath, OR with a shadow on top. You may also have trouble smudging out the color with your finger after you apply it, because it sets fast and  the color sheers out once you blend.

And still, I’ll probably go back for more. For 5 or 6 bucks a pencil, that’s pretty decent considering the prices of other cream shadows.

If you check them out, let me know how they work out for you!

A New Fave

Hey my beautifuls!

I know it’s been a few days before I blogged, but I want to introduce you to a new brand I’ve been trying out. It’s called Mineral Fusion, and I swear it’s love.

I recently bought an eyeshadow trio, a radiance face powder, and a lip liner, but it’s the trio that really caught my attention.

ImageIt’s called “Stunning”, and it is, indeed, STUNNING. Like, just look at it. The colors are so warm and creamy, like a melty chocolate drink. It works for any eye color, except maybe girls with pinky or cool undertones, then the warm, yellow-based colors may look somewhat strange.

But anyway, this is more buttery than Urban Decay. I swear. It’s almost like a cream, but still a powder, it’s just so soft and so effortlessly pigmented! With a primer, it stays on all day long with no budge or fall-out. But it was till prettyyy pricey.

You can get them here, but I purchased mine at a local Co-Op.

Anyway, I missed ya. See you guys soon!

My Butter London Collection!

Hey you charming peoples!

I thought I might share my Butter London nail polish collection, because they have such beautiful colors and finishes.

Let’s go!!

1. La Moss

 la_moss

This is a creamy, vampy color that you can build up super easily. The finish is very, very glossy, too, and I love how this nail polish is dark without being gothic..it’s elegant and beautiful, named after Kate Moss herself!

2. Trout Pout butter_london_nail_lacquer_in_trout_pout_shop

This is a super-hot, super-bright coral color that looks great against most skin tones! It’s got a high-gloss finish, kind of like La Moss, and looks really juicy and peppy.

3. Kerfuffle

kerfuffle

This is a nice, neutral pink. It’s not really high-gloss, it’s more creamy, soft, and sweet, like desserts! It reminds me of a cake-pop or a cupcake, and is a nice, basic pastel.

4. Fash Pack

fash_pack
This color makes my skin glow, and brings out all the golden undertones. Under different lightings it can look different, from a purple-brown, cool taupe, or a delicious, milk-chocolate shade. It’s truly gorgeous.

5. Marrow images

Marrow is a beautiful purple color, that looks amazing. It’s not really too dark, it’s just borderline “purple”, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. It’s a very sexy shade.

6. Two-Finger Salute

Two-Finger-Salute-Bottle-JPEG

I’m actually not too fond of this shade, but it was a gift. It’s a light, minty-teal color with gold glitter, which I don’t think looks that great on me. It doesn’t really go with anything I wear, either! There’s nothing wrong with the formula…just the color.

7. Queen Vic

queen_vic

This is my newest Butter London shade, and one of my favorite ones! On the nail, it’s a juicy, creamy fuchsia that reminds me of berries or lip gloss. It’s so festive! Perfect for the holidays, or a party, or school dance, or fun night out, whatever!

So that’s my collection, guys! :} I hope you enjoyed this post.

Dupe for a dupe?

Hey guys!

Soo, as you know, the Maybelline Color Tattoo thingy was very hyped up in the beauty world. Very creamy, long-wearing, but known to fade. A possible dupe for MACs Paint Pots.

Image

They usually cost about 7-8 dollars. But what if I told you, I had a DUPE for a dupe that costed about 5 or 6 bucks? That’s more portable than the Color Tattoos. That has such similar colors, it’s crazy!!!

Well…everyone give a round of applause to the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Sticks! Image

They’re creamy, easy to blend, easy to build, long-wearing, and so pigmented it knocked my socks off. I have “Paranoid Purple” and “Tempting Turquoise”. The purple shade is very, very dark eggplant purple, and the turquoise shade is bright, sort of shimmery, and BEAUTIFUL. It’s very “POW!”, ya know?

If you want a full review, let me know, guys!

MAC Face and Body Foundation Review

Hey gorgeous human beings!

Because one lovely follower suggested this, I decided to do it, so here’s a review I tried reaaallly hard to not draw out. So let’s go and take a looksie at what this foundation is REALLY like.

**********************************************************************************************************************

I recently went to the MAC counter and bought my very first MAC foundation, like, ever. The Face and Body, babyy!

CultBeautyBuys9_EL_25sep12_pr_bt It comes with 50 ml of product, which is a pretty good deal.

The bottle is the kind you squeeze, and it comes with a rounded tip that makes it easier to disperse product without it smearing on the cap. It’s totally liquidy, which isn’t a bad thing, but still….liquidy. I put this stuff to the test over the last four days, wearing it with BB Cream, without BB Cream, with powder, without powder, with primer, without primer, ect. Let’s get started!

DAY 1: WITH BB CREAM AND PRESSED POWDER

I used Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm with SPF 45 underneath my foundation to act like a base. The pressed powder I used was Clinique’s Stay-Matte Pressed Powder in “Stay Buff”, which set it really nicely.

To be honest, I wasn’t too crazy about the way it looked with the BB Cream underneath. My BB Cream was matte-ish, and it took away from the healthy, glowing look this foundation gives.

DAY 2: WITH BB CREAM AND MINERAL POWDER

I used Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in “Fairly Light” to set it. I thought it would add to the healthy look the Face and Body created, but I was WRONG. Where my combo skin was more dry, the mineral powder totally made the foundation look thicker and caky.

DAY 3: WITH PRIMER AND PRESSED POWDER

The primer (Mirabella from the December Ipsy Glam-bag) and powder definitely made the foundation wear much, much longer. The foundation looked wayyyy more natural than when I wore the BB Cream under it, and I’m sure no one could really tell that I was wearing…well, anything!

DAY FOUR: WITH NOTHING EXCEPT MOISTURIZER

I felt pretty confident about how long it would wear, and it did go for a long time on it’s own. Just because it’s a water-based product doesn’t mean it will sweat off faster or slip and slide; THAT’S foundation-racist. Face-ist.

Of course, I do not recommend this for oily skin. But, on my lightly combo skin, it looked really, really nice, and lasted all day. I only had to blot my nose ONCE!

Anyways, to be honest, I’m not really sure how I feel about this yet. I love it on me, but it takes me a while to warm up to certain products.

I put it on with my fingers, but you can wear it however you like. The greatest thing is, you can build it up to medium coverage in the spots you need it. There’s no noticeable shimmer or glitter, and has such a natural, glowing finish! The packaging isn’t that portable, but I like it anyhow. :}

Hope this was helpful!

My Five Favorite Nail Polishes!

ON THIS EARTH, I only have about five real nail polish “favorites”.

I usually let my nails run around naked for the rest of the time, because I’m too lazy to paint them.

When I do paint them, I usually get bored of the color after about a week, but these are nail polishes I really, super-duper love. We’re going from 1 to 5, 5 being my top favorite.

Hehe. Let’s starrrrrt.

#1:

O.P.I Nail Polish in Strawberry Fields

Image

This color really brings out the golden undertones in my skin, and makes the shimmery, strawberry color pop even more. You only need about one coat, two is fabulous, and by then you have an opaque, juicy, strawberry shimmer that screams summer. It stays on FOREVER too, and looks really smooth on the nail.

#2:

Essie Nail Polish in Where’s My Chauffeur?

Image

This color is very, very pretty. I love the Essie brand, because they have so much color selection! This color reminded me of cotton candy, or the beach. It was one of those colors that instantly picked up your spirits.

#3:

Butter London Nail Polish in Trout Pout

butter_london_nail_lacquer_in_trout_pout_shop

This is a very bright, bubbly polish. It looks like a bubblegum pink with a hint of coral, that goes on extremely creamy. It reminds me of something you would wear for a day at the beach, or to the mall with your besties, or SOMEWHERE really fun! It looks very pretty on, and complements a lot of skin tones.

#2:

Butter London Nail Polish in Fash Pack

Image

This is one of the MOST UNIQUE COLORS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Ever. I know it looks “blah” in the bottle, but on your nails, it can look like a variety of shades.

In different lighting, it can look like a purple-brown, a cool taupe, or a creamy milk-chocolate color, and it’s SUPER glossy. Plus, it goes with basically anything and everything you have to wear!

#1:

Butter London Nail Polish in Kerfuffle

Image

I know what you’re thinking. “It’s washed-out pink. What makes it so special?”

Well, my friend, this color is very, very beautiful in it’s simplicity. Every girl needs that basic, creamy, ballet pink in their nail polish collection! It’s a true, timeless classic.
