NOW FOR 7 INTERESTING THINGS:

  1. Because I’m Alutiiq, or Aleut, a type of native Alaskan, my great-grandmother gives everyone a native name when they’re born. Mine is Saangapaluq, which means swallow-bird, one of my favorite animals!
  2. I don’t have a religion. Seriously. For a while I though I was Buddhist-Hindu, but now I’m completely unsure what I am.
  3. Right now I am in loooove with Lana Del Rey and her music. It’s so sultry and I adore the lyrics: “My old man is a tough man, but, he’s got a soul as sweet as blood red jam, and he shows me, he knows me, every inch of my tar black soul.”
  4. I honestly wish I was brave enough to wear cool eyeshadow and eyeliner like some girls…you know, totally crazy, glam, sparkly and eye-catching. But, face it, darlings. I’m a lip-girl at heart. But I’m trying to break out of my comfort zone!!!
  5. My girl-crush is a tie between Emma Watson and Anne Hathaway. I love both of their classic, effortless styles, and all the roles they’ve played! If either one of them asked me to marry them, I’d totally say yes. HOW COULD YOU NOT???
  6. I make friends really easily, and am very trusting. If you break that trust, I make a wall though. Not just any wall, but a wall made out of bricks, titanium, and Nokia phones, so you’re gonna have to work to break it down.
  7. Blogging is one of my biggest joys. I’m so thankful for meeting everyone I’ve met, you don’t even know!

Thank you SO much, guys!

Now, if you excuse me, I’m going to go on a short jog. ;} Ta ta!

My Back To School Look!

Ughhh school. It’s so close!!

I know it might be weird, but I’m really pumped to be a freshman. We’re on the bottom of the food-chain, but high school just looks so exciting!

It’s time to prove yourself, and a fresh new look is what you need.

Starting off, I picked a BEAUUUTIFUL dress from my fave online store, Modcloth.

It’s the “Soda Fountain” dress in the color ginger.

It’s totally 50’s…my favorite fashion era.

I CAN’T EVEN EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE IT.

While other girls will go to school in their UGGs, skinny jeans, and PINK t-shirts, I’ll be the one who waltzes through the doors in a 1950’s goldenrod dress. I love everything about it, the buttons, the cinched waist, the cap sleeves. I can totally picture myself sipping an ice cream float in this. ;}

And for footwear, I chose some red TOMS to really add a nice contrast. The red looks reaalllyyy good with the dress.

They’re simple, classic, and comfortable. You can also pair them with a dress without making it look TOO casual, or rock them with jeans, shorts, whatever!

They are totally universal, and I love the detailed insides!

And of course, you can’t go to school without your bag! What else would you hold pens, pencils, books, homework, papers, supplies, food, and who-knows-what-else in?

Delia’s has the cutest little backpacks. I like this one because (A: It holds a lot) and (B: It’s classic)! The leather look never goes out of style, even if it’s faux.

Forget clunky, huge backpacks! This one’s nice and petite, so it’s easy to stuff in your locker.

Now last, but not least, I picked out an adorable pair of earrings. You could call these the cherry on top of this look!

*Ba dum tiss!*

il_570xN.485086300_6x8n

Cute, huh? And yeah, I know, my joke was lame.

If you want to buy these earrings, you can get them here at Etsy , the utopia for all things cute and unique! These earrings add a vintage and quirky feel, which I like. Plus, when you put up your hair in science, they’ll be a total eye-catcher!

That’s all I have for today, my doves.

DUECES!

(Oh, and P.S: Are any of you excited to go back to school like I am? Let me know!)

4 Fave Summer Lippies!

Hi everyone! ❤

If you have stuck with me for a while, you know how I feel about lipsticks and glosses.

I luuuuuuv dem.

Anyway, summer’s coming to a close, so why not share some fresh, summery colors that I loved this season??

LET’S GET MOVIN’.

So for starters, I’m going to show TWO drugstore lippies first, then two high-end. My top drugstore lipstick choice is Revlon Super-Lustrous Lipstick in “Coral Berry”, a sweet, candied coral color that is totally reminiscent of MAC’s “Vegas Volt”. It’s creamy and fresh, perfect for a day of lounging at the beach! Image

Next, I chose a drugstore gloss that is really easy to top on anything. I picked out NYC’s Liquid Lipshine in “Nude York City” because it complements my skin tone really nicely. It’s that perfect, beachy nude that looks great on anyone! Plus, I love the applicator; it applies the color nice and even.

NOW, let’s check out two high-end lip products :3

Not gonna lie, it was a hard decision.

First, as a lipstick, I chose one from Clinique, that’s a really easy color to wear. It’s Clinique Buttershine Lipstick in “Fresh Watermelon”, a nice, deep red-pink with some sparkle. It glides on deliciously, and illuminates your pout with a light glossy look, positively beautiful! To be honest, this summer I didn’t wear a lot of lipstick, but I love this color. It gives your mouth a “I just drank fruit punch” look, very kissable.

My high-end gloss is one from MAC. Truth be told, the only high-end glosses I own are from MAC, because there’s some KILLER drugstore glosses out there!!! I picked a lustreglass in “Wonderstruck”, a warm, shimmery pink. I like it because it’s got an opaque look on the lip, so you can just put it on and go. It’s effortless, it’s long-lasting, it’s perfection. AND it smells like cupcakes!

If you guys want a post on back-to-school fashion AND makeup, let me know in the comments. :}

I’m so sad summer’s almost over!!!!! We have to make the best of it, right?

Buhbye, darlings.

Small Update!

Good morning, everyone.

Starting Monday, my days will be filled with dance practice, ten-minute sprints, meetings, preparing for school to start, and trying to keep up with my newly hectic schedule.

I will be sleep-deprived, stressed, and most likely not really that happy.

I’ll try to post as much as I can next week, but I’m not making any promises.

I leave you with Pusheen, dancing adorably. Image

Luv you guys. Have a fun weekend!

MAC Lipsticks GALORE!!

Howdy-do, my precious cupcakes.

I got a suggestion from a few lovely followers to do some reviews. Specifically, on things that I got from a recent haul here.

The two lovely followers were beautiful Ashley and Olive, who were requesting lipstick and eyeshadow reviews. (Be expecting a lot of reviews in your future!) ;}

Soo, I took my three brand-spankin’-new MAC lipsticks and decided to swatch and describe them in detail.

First off, is sexy and red-hot Lady Danger.

IMG_5621

First, the color is gorgeous. It’s a lovely orange-red with a matte finish, very classic and vivid. You can get rich color in one swipe, so pigmentation is no problem. Neither is staying power…this stuff sticks. (AND stains!!!)

Now, guys, this is a matte lipstick. If you have dryer lips, this will cling to those icky bits of dead skin. So, I suggest exfoliating and putting on a lip conditioner before you use this!

The next time you’re at a MAC counter, try this baby on. You won’t regret it!

Second is flashy Girl About Town.

IMG_5631

This, in comparison to “Lady Danger”, is a thousand times more buttery. You can also build up the color, depending on if you want a sheer or opaque look.

Also, I loooove the color; it’s a medium fuchsia with blue undertones. On an olive-toned girl, it just makes my skin glow!  A cream/gloss finish isn’t half-bad either. It just looks so yummy on the lips!

LAST, but not least, angelic Creme Cup!

IMG_5625

To be honest, this doesn’t swatch too well, but it looks amazing on the lips! It’s not your average boring nude, it’s a milky, sweet pink that won’t wash you out.

I can totally understand the hype on this one. If you want a “My Lips But Better”, or MLBB shade, try this one! It’s light and buildable, perfect for everyday or to pair with a smokey eye.

Staying power could be better, but I don’t mind reapplying this one. It’s so moisturizing and creamyyy. :}

Anyway, that’s all the lippies! I hope these reviews were helpful, and I apologize for keeping it brief.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I’d be glad to get back to you!

PEACE!!!!! <333

Giving My Best Friend a MAKEOVER!!!

Hii Curly-Fries! ❤

Today I wanted to do something a bit different, so I texted my friend Katie like “Yo gurrrl, can I borrow yo facee?” She was like “Ahuh, ya whatevers.”

Sooo I dragged her out of her house and plunked her down in a chair, picking through my stash and looking for the perfect colors.

You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting….watching….anticipating this moment >:D

YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND…Katie doesn’t like makeup. Which is totally understandable..considering she’s 12 and FREAKING FLAWLESS. Literally, she’s got that awesome baby-skin, no splotch, bump, or pimple in sight. I’ve been dyyyyyiiing to get ahold of her face since, like, forever. Her face is like a canvas begging for a little enhancement…and that could finally happen!!!

This is Katie, my best friend ever since we were literally babies.

IMG_3361

She’s seriously one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met, and one of the sweetest.

Plus, she’s got gorgeous hazel eyes, the perfect button nose, and adorable freckled cheeks!

IMG_3551

Anyway, I was just in the mood to play “Bobbi Brown”, and thankfully, Katie finally let me.

Here she is before the makeup! (Natural and gorgeous.)

IMG_5549

And after! (STUNNING!)

IMG_5551

There was literally nothing (except dark circles) to cover, so I put a tinted moisturizer all over her face, and a little concealer under her eyes. I set all of it with powder.

And of course, you can’t go wrong with a beautiful blush! I used my favorite, Milani’s “Dolce Pink”, brushed on the apples of her cheeks, along with some highlighter to give her skin a dewy glow.

Eyes were my favorite part. I used a lot of glittery gold, champagne, and pink hues to bring out the green in her eyes. The mascara made  HUGE difference. Seriously, her lashes stretched for miles!! I also defined her brows to make them appear more full. I loove full brows, and her gentle arch gives her a very sweet, pretty look.

Lips were simple. Balm first, then a sheer pink lipstick topped with gloss.

The end look was very natural, soft, and innocent. We let her gorgeous curls down, and she looked like a fairy princess!

IMG_5555

IMG_5554

In the end, she didn’t love it.

In her words, “I don’t like it because it covers up who the person is; it’s fake and unreal. I don’t “respect ” it I guess…It was made to cover up, but I don’t believe people should cover up.”

Afterwards, I showed her how to take it off (with Cold Cream, a washcloth, and a few Q-Tips), and assured her that she’s beautiful no matter what.

Still, I’m really disappointed because NONE of my friends like makeup as much as I do….not even my best friend. I guess that’s how it goes.

IMG_5553

Have a gorgeous day, my lovelies!!
